Sports-O-Zone’s philosophy was simple.  How can we help reduce the gut-wrenching odor being emitted from an athlete’s equipment and make the ride home more enjoyable for the athlete’s family?  What causes these odors is the real question that needs to be answered?  Sports-O-Zone was aware that these odors were the by-product of potentially harmful pathogens.  These potential pathogens, bacteria, viruses, and molds, were growing, and in many cases flourishing, inside your athlete’s equipment.

 

In today’s world, these potential pathogens have turned deadly.  We all know of someone who has experienced an extended hospital stay because of some form of infection.  One infection that has been around for years is staphylococcus aureus (Staph).  Unfortunately, the Staph bacteria have evolved into a strain that is more antibiotic-resistant called MRSA (methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus).  By now the sports world is well aware of The Ricky Lannetti Story.

 

Sports-O-Zone’s research led it to a simple solution, OZONE.

 

Ozone is nature’s way of purifying air and water.  It is one of the strongest oxidants and disinfectants available, ranking ahead of hydrogen peroxide, bleach, and iodine, but without the residue and pungent odor.  Sports-O-Zone provides the technology to help you battle these potential pathogens in your athlete’s athletic gear.  These potential pathogens never take a day off.  Bacteria and viruses are spread through a simple sneeze or a handshake with an infected person.  With the increase in physical contact from sports participation, bacteria and viruses have a greater chance of spreading to your athlete.

 

Ozone seeks out, attacks, and kills the bacteria and virus cells, and mold in your athlete’s gear.  During this process of attacking and killing these organisms, ozone (O3) releases an oxygen molecule and is transformed back into oxygen (O2), which makes up 21% of the air we breathe. 

 

The Sports-O-Zone’s patented system allows your athletic gear to come in contact with ozone (O3) gas.  In just 5 minutes, an independent microbiological laboratory documented a greater than 99.9% kill rate of staphylococcus aureus (staph) and MRSA.  A second study shows that we achieved up to a 97% reduction of bacteria, after just one use, on goalie hockey gear using our system.  We have taken great care in assuring that our patented system keeps you, your family, and athletic gear safe.
